I was the lead designer for creating a multi-site for Capital Senior Living. They needed a main website for their company and then separate mini websites for each senior living community. Additionally, the end user would need to be able to search all of their communities across the United States. I started with the wireframes to establish the correct site architecture and user flow. Then I created the site pages for the main company site. Once the layout, colors, fonts, and images were approved we moved onto creating a design template that would be duplicated for each community living sub-site. Next was creating a community blog for news and announcements. This project took almost a year to complete due to populating data and images for 96 mini sites for each senior living community.
The CMS platform used is Drupal. Now the company has a person in-house to keeps the site updated with new images and text as needed ongoing.
